Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
LawStreet is a UK-wide directory of all registered solicitors, combining trusted data from multiple sources. Our goal is to make finding and comparing solicitors easy while providing the most comprehensive and unbiased solicitor information available.
Yes! LawStreet is completely free for anyone searching for a solicitor, and we will never charge for our core service. In the future, we may allow solicitors to add additional details to their profiles, which may be a paid service. However, we will never accept payment to promote one solicitor over another.
Our core dataset comes from the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), combined with multiple trusted sources. We continuously expand our data sources to help users make better-informed choices when selecting a solicitor.
You can search by postcode (e.g. SW11 7US), postcode area (e.g. Leeds), practice area (e.g. Criminal Law), or solicitor name. Once you start a search, you can filter and sort results to find the best match.
Not yet, but we provide contact details where available. Our goal is to make it as easy as possible to find, compare, and connect with trusted solicitors. If direct messaging benefits users, we may add this feature in the future.
All regulated solicitors should be listed, and our data is synchronized daily. If you can’t find someone, they may no longer be practicing or may have limited publicly available information.
Not at the moment, but we plan to add this functionality in the near future
Solicitor profiles are automatically generated from official sources. In the future, we plan to let solicitors add additional details to their profiles. However, core information will always reflect official records.
Currently, you cannot claim your profile, but this feature is a top priority. We plan to introduce profile-claiming soon, allowing solicitors to enhance their listings by adding extra details.
We synchronize data regularly from official sources and do not manually edit solicitor records. If your details are incorrect, they will need to be updated at the original source first. If you believe our data does not match the official record, contact us, and we will investigate.
No, we will never accept payment to rank one solicitor above another. Our goal is to provide unbiased, transparent information so users can make an informed choice. While we plan to offer services to help solicitors stand out, these will not affect search rankings.
If you are a practicing solicitor, your details are publicly available through regulatory bodies, so we cannot remove your profile. If you believe your profile contains errors, contact us, and we will investigate.
No, LawStreet is an independent legal directory. We compile solicitor information from multiple sources, including the SRA and other legal bodies, but we are not affiliated with them.
We have robust data synchronization processes that keep our information up to date with official sources. None of our competitors match our level of accuracy—trust us, we checked, and that’s why we built this site!
Our core solicitor database is updated daily to ensure accuracy. Additional data sources are updated as soon as new information becomes available.
Not yet, but we plan to aggregate reviews from multiple sources. We don’t believe in relying on a single review source, and neither should you. Instead, we aim to bring together multiple ratings and reviews, so you can decide which sources to trust.
